Bio

Sandra de la Loza was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She studied Latin American history and culture at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM) in 1989-1990 and earned a B.A. in Chicano Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1992. She completed her M.F.A. at California State University, Long Beach in 2004. De la Loza is dedicated to being an artist, activist, and educator, often bridging all three roles in her work.She is the co-founder of Arts and Action, a space dedicated to generating artistic and political dialogue and action. As an interdisciplinary artist, her work is displayed inside and outside of traditional arts forums.
